In this warm and engaging Learning Series session, social worker Erika Moore will walk you through the expectant parent process with Adoption Options. Material covered includes information about decision making and the many choices that birthparents have within the open adoption model. The session also provides an overview of how, when and with whom information is gathered/shared, Alberta’s adoption laws, outcomes for children, and healing after an adoption plan. While this session is directed to a Birthparent/Expectant parent audience, professionals, family members, and adoptive parents will also benefit from further understanding of the unique journey experienced by those considering adoption for their child(ren).
