In this Learning Series session, viewers will gain an overview of the open adoption system (including the history, process, legalities in adoption, agency overview, and an explanation of the various types of adoption in Alberta). Beyond the basics, this session will also offer the viewer practical suggestions and reflective prompts to consider when supporting a loved one who is going through the adoption process. This session is appropriate for loved ones of both adoptive families AND birth families, and for anyone who wants to be a positive ally to the adoption community in Alberta.
